Tom Curtain

Warbles is Tom Curtain, a singer-songwriter based in Red Hook, Brooklyn. He released an LP called The Necromancer's Kids in 2014, and an EP named Winter Lite in 2015. He is currently writing/recording a double album entitled The Disciplines and humbly begs your patience.

Praise for Winter Lite EP

"[O]ne-man wunderkind Tom Curtain's five-song Winter Lite ... evoke[s] other inventive ilk like Neutral Milk Hotel, Jeremy Enigk, Guided By Voices, Olivia Tremor Control, and Arcade Fire, while sprinkling in specks of '60s baroque pop.... [H]is narrative, folky lyrical style even resembles The Decemberists' Colin Meloy, mixed with Belle & Sebastian's Stuart Murdoch. But Curtain's pleasant, quivery 'warble' is more apprehensive and impulsive ... as when he addresses an anxiety-afflicted acquaintance on the anthemic, elevating opener 'Flies'.... [A] superb short story collection."

Praise for The Necromancer's Kids

"[A] sprawling rock opera/song cycle in the vein of The Who's Tommy/Quadrophenia or The Decemberists' Hazards of Love, recounting the troubled lives of despairing twins Jon and Lara.... The breezy title track elicits Belle & Sebastian's 'Me & the Major'; 'Pilgrimage' is jaunty '60s baroque pop a la Kinks' 'Do You Remember Walter'/Beatles' 'Penny Lane'.... [A]n arresting, page-turning novel, set to engaging, deftly delivered music!"
